Send Faxes to a Thermal Printer
Think the Fax Machine is long gone? A technological relic? Think again! In a decidedly digital world where we’re all connected 24/7 via self-destructing photos and Augmented Reality Emojis (see Apple Keynote 2017 for details), the fax harkens back to a simpler time when humans exchanged textual information one painstaking page at a time.
Recently, Twilio introduced a new Fax service as part of their cloud telecommunications suite. It happens to be, they launched this new service on April 1st, 2017, and I was completely convinced that it was an April Fool’s prank. Who would devote time and money to fax technology? Well, Twilio knows how to push boundaries and take us into the future of old technology!
In this awesome new blog post, they talk about how you can set up a microcontroller with an Adafruit Thermal Printer to receive and print faxes via Twilio.
